We departed from Midpoint Campground at 9:45AM CDT and continued East on I-40 towards Albuquerque, NM . We stopped for fuel at the TA Travel Center in Moriarty, NM. We then continued on through Albuquerque and up I-25 to US-550 in Rio Rancho, NM. We stopped there at the local Albertson’s Grocery Store to stock up on supplies.
We pulled into our Bureau of Land Management (BLM) campsite near La Jara, NM at 4:15PM CDT (325 miles). This is our first true boondocking stop on BLM land so we’re a bit excited/scared.
We are at an elevation of 7,200′ and the outside temperature is in the upper 60’s. The overnight temperature is expected to drop into the upper 30’s. In true roughing it fashion, we are watching the Ray’s game off of our ROKU via our Starlink internet connection.
